Festival launch, Digital asset package, Awards campaign

Two teenage sisters are about to leave their country forever when they unexpectedly reconnect with an absent father. This relationship will both amplify and ease their pain of change.

We worked on the social media promotion of REINAS by Klaudia Reynicke for nearly a year. 

The campaign started with the world premiere at Sundance, followed by the films selection at Berlinale Generation and went all the way to an award campaign, when the film was selected as Switzerland’s official Oscar contender for Best International Feature Film.

This is one of the projects we really love at Alphapanda, starting small and becoming one of the most memorable campaigns of the year.

The strategy

From the start, it appeared essential to underline the great energy and the positive mood of the film in all materials that we created.

Considering that such festival campaigns are mainly aimed at film professionals, we wanted to position REINAS as a quality arthouse film with a high potential of becoming an audience pleaser.

We also created a high number of short video featurettes with Klaudia Reynicke and the young cast members that allowed us to dig deeper into themes and topics that we wanted to underline as part of the campaign.

For the award campaign, the strategy was shifted quite drastically, keeping in mind that the main target group was made of Academy members.

The fact that Jessica Alba joined the film as Executive Producer allowed us to create original content and to leverage her over 20M followers on social media, a unique opportunity.

The highlights

We don’t get to interview a star of the caliber of Jessica Alba every day, so creating two original interview videos with her and Klaudia Reynicke that got more than 800K organic views was certainly one of the most unforgettable moments of the campaigns.

The split screen reel presenting the universe of each of the two parents is also something we are very proud of, because it captures a lot of the film in a very simple, effective and visual way.
